Archaeologists in Spain say they have found one of the world’s earliest recognized images of Jesus. It’s engraved on a glass dish dating back toward 4th Century AD, reports from Spain say.
The plate is known having been always hold Eucharistic breads as it was consecrated at the beginning of Christian rituals. It measures 22 cm in diameter and fragments from it had been unearthed outside of the south Spanish city of Linares, ABC newsprint reports.
Scientists employed by the FORVM MMX project discovered it inside a building utilized for spiritual worship in what continues to be of ancient city of Castulo. The find made experts “review the chronology of very early Christianity in Spain”, FORVM MMX project manager Marcelo Castro informed El Mundo newsprint.

El Mundo notes that Christ appears different from later depictions: he’s got no beard, his tresses just isn’t too-long and then he is using a philosopher’s toga.
